Winemaking
Winemaking
The fruit underwent 14 days on skins during fermentation, enhancing color, tannin integration, and flavor concentration. 20% of the wine was then aged for six months in French oak, adding subtle spice and softening the tannins while preserving the wine’s vibrant fruit character.
The Vineyard
The Vineyard
Sourced from a premium Heathcote vineyard, this Shiraz is deeply influenced by the region’s ancient volcanic loam soils, which emerged when glaciers receded, leaving behind dark red earth dotted with glacial silt stone. This unique soil composition provides excellent drainage and promotes slow, even ripening, resulting in intensely flavored fruit with depth, structure, and natural balance.
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Bold and expressive, the nose offers blackberry, dark plum, and cassis, layered with peppery spice and smoky oak. The palate is generous and full-bodied, with lush dark fruit flavors of blackberry, mulberry, and plum. Subtle notes of dark chocolate, licorice, and cracked black pepper add complexity, while well-integrated oak imparts a touch of vanilla and spice.
